Rancé

Since the tradition starting in 1600, Rancé family became famous for producing perfumed gloves for the French Aristocracy in world-famous Grasse. In 1795 François Rancé turned entirely to perfumery. His innovative spirit led him to create extremely refined and modern perfumes, which secured him the favour of Napoleon. He became the Empereur's favourite perfumer and François and his descendants dedicated many of their creations to him and other illustrious personalities of this inspiring era.

A unique tradition

A unique mastery in crafting perfumed gloves soon evolved into the art of distilling and blending essences. François Rancé established his Parfumeur – Distillateur laboratory in Grasse and revolutionized the art of perfumery by creating fragrances of timeless excellence. Being the favourite perfumer of Napoleon, François Rancé created Le Vainqueur, Triomphe and L´Eau de Austerliz for thim.

Milan: a new era begins

In 1902, thanks to Alexandre Rancé, the company moved to Milan starting a new era of the Maison. The Rancé legacy is now housed in the Milan historical Headquarters that brings together vintage Rancé products, part of the archives and the Rancé collection of art perfumery objects.

Today: seven generations

Today, the seventh generation is carrying on the Rancé family´s traditional craft, inspired by ancient recipes, selected natural ingredients, passion, research and creativity. We can see the timeless heritage that enables to introduce fragrances of contemporary excellence.
