Filippo Sorcinelli - Oceano Viola - niche perfume

Every perfume lives in the continuity of a single intuition:

that every violet leads to truth,

that every inclined rectangle opens a passage,

that every wave walks upon the edge between two worlds

without losing its center.

Violet dwells only within.

Every brushstroke is a wound seeking the light.

An ocean acts as threshold and substance: if violet, it becomes a cosmic fluid that absorbs, transfigures, and carries. If infused with iris, it becomes Vision. Return. Origin.

The violet ocean holds the depth of a primordial womb because it welcomes, enfolds, and shapes. The laws of physics, of narrative logic, of reality as convention dissolve into the current of this dark sea with purple reflections: everything floats, everything vibrates.

Art has captured its luminous contradictions: in Japanese gardens, iris suggests balance and grace; in Van Gogh’s paintings, it becomes desperate and glorious gesture, blooming in a field of questions.

The message caught in the safety pin is carved upon the cap, resting as a living relic, evoking instability, provisional closure, a wound held together by makeshift means, an ambiguous protection. Everything is precarious, doubled, poorly stitched. Things appear still, yet tremble in their tears. Worlds seem united, yet a tremor reveals the abyss with the artisanal manuality of pain, as if the human psyche were a frayed garment, held together by a gesture of urgency.

This perfume lives in the continuity of a single intuition: that every violet sea leads to truth, that every inclined rectangle opens a passage, that every life is sacred and walks the edge between two worlds without losing its center.

Every brushstroke is a wound seeking the light. It transfigures what it touches. It illuminates what it grazes. It elevates what it embraces, even through violence.

Every note speaks the language of the invisible. With iris, the skin is clothed in mystery, in that form of contemplative beauty that refuses to shout, seducing through silent wound, inviting toward the threshold of the absolute.

Filippo Sorcinelli is an Italian artist, perfumer, organist, and the founder of the eponymous niche fragrance house. Born in the Marche region of Italy, he has pursued a career at the intersection of art, music, and spirituality from its very beginning. In 2001, he established the LAVS atelier, specializing in the creation of liturgical vestments and sacred objects. His work in this field has included collaborations with the Vatican, most notably the design of liturgical vestments for Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis.

His fascination with fragrance ultimately led him to create his own perfume house, which quickly earned recognition as one of the most respected names in the world of niche perfumery. His debut fragrance, LAVS, achieved iconic status for its remarkably authentic evocation of a cathedral's atmosphere, capturing the solemn beauty of incense-filled liturgical ceremonies.

Sorcinelli draws inspiration from architecture, music, religious symbolism, and the complexity of human emotion. His fragrances are celebrated for their artistic depth, originality, and fearless departure from conventional perfumery. Each creation is conceived as an immersive narrative or sensory experience, designed to evoke profound emotional resonance. Through his singular artistic vision, Filippo Sorcinelli has established himself as one of the most influential and distinctive figures in contemporary artistic perfumery.
