Eris Parfums - Mx. - niche perfume
We are living in the middle of a gender revolution, and ERIS PARFUMS is commemorating it with Mx., a luscious, woody animalic perfume for all genders.
A sparkling mix of ginger, saffron, vetiver, and black pepper on a creamy bed of cedar and sandalwood, wrapped in rich notes of cacao, benzoin, and the animalic purr of castoreum, Mx. blurs the boundaries between conventionally masculine and feminine perfume notes to create a symphony of olfactory decadence.
"Mx. is a subtle mix of rich ingredients I love, without floral notes or diluted musks. It’s not a clean, neutral, unisex fragrance, but a lush, romantic, inviting scent for everyone - whatever their gender." – Antoine Lie (Perfumer)

"Fragrance lovers know that a beautiful perfume has no gender, but the reality is that some notes are still assigned one. Mx. plays with this gender binary in perfume, blurring and mixing the boundaries between traditionally masculine and feminine perfume notes, to create a luscious woody animalic fragrance for all genders.” – Barbara Herman (Founder & Creative Director)
Top notes: Indian Ginger, Madagascar Black Pepper, Saffron, Ethiopian Olibanum
Heart notes: Australian Sandalwood, Virginian Cedarwood
Base notes: Haitian Vetiver, Indonesian Patchouli, Laotian Benzoin, Russian Birch Tar, Venezuelan Cacao, Castoreum (synthetic)

ERIS PARFUMS was launched in 2016 by vintage perfume lover Barbara Herman. Her years of collecting and researching vintage perfume took her on a journey that started with her blog, Yesterday’s Perfume, which turned into a book, Scent and Subversion: Decoding a Century of Provocative Perfume.
After interviewing Master Perfumer Antoine Lie for Scent and Subversion, Barbara asked him to help her create a collection of fragrances as bold as her favorite vintage perfumes but for a modern audience.
ERIS seeks to bring to modern niche perfumery the uncompromising quality, boldness, and creativity Barbara encountered in the best of vintage perfume.
Named after ERIS, the Greek goddess of troublemaking and disruption, ERIS PARFUMS is inspired by muses — divine, human, and fragrant — that exemplify unconventional beauty and subversive glamour.
